Women’s Ministry - Events & Activities

Although not all activities require registration, it does help us plan for materials, food, space, etc.  If you are planning to attend any of the events/activities below, please click on the highlighted event name. Women’s Fall Event: Held Secure* with Guest Speaker Tammy Smith - Friday, Sept 10, 2010, 6:30pm and Saturday, Sept 11, 2010, 9am

Can you really be Held Secure in the midst of life’s challenges?  When the world begins to crack and crumble, where do you find hope?  Does time really heal all wounds?  Come join us as we hear from international speaker, author and professional counselor, Dr. Tammy Smith.  Tammy is a vibrant, contagious Jesus follower passionate about bringing the truths of Scripture into life changing places of the heart for healing and real transformation.  You’ll be laughing one minute and pondering the truths of Scripture and depths of your soul the next as Tammy shares treasures from the Living Word and the love of God in Christ Jesus.  Anticipate leaving encouraged with tools in your belt for walking with Jesus and knowing you are held secure. Tickets $20 (optional boxed lunch $6)

MOPS*- 1st and 3rd Thursdays, Sept 2010-May 2011 (no meetings in December), 9:15-11:15am, Room 230

MOPS is a place to find friendship, community, resources and support for you as a woman and mother so you’re not alone.  MOPS holds and shares the collected wisdom of mothers and experts (usually one and the same!); add your voice to the conversation! Childcare available.

And Then I Had Kids*- 2nd and 4th Thursdays, Sept 23, 2010-May 2011 (no meetings in December), 9:15-11:15am, Room 230

And Then I Had Kids helps moms handle common struggles such as priorities, discipline, and fatigue, while encouraging them to shape a Christian home.

Covenant Precept Study*- Wednesdays beginning September 15, 2010, 6:30-8:00pm, Room 102

See this incredible thread running from Genesis through Revelation. God enters into a binding agreement with His people and always keeps His promises. Trusting Him as a covenant partner frees us from the bondage of worry and anxiety. This study will transform the way you read the Scriptures! 

Ephesians Precept Study*- Thursdays beginning September 16, 2010, 9:15-11:15am, Room 101

If you’re looking for your true identity in Him, this study is for you! Join Precept Ministry’s unique inductive study to learn what God planned in eternity past for you.

Soul Healing*- Wednesdays beginning September 15, 2010, 6:30-8:00pm, Room 105b or Thursdays beginning September 16, 2010, 9:15-11:15am, Room 105

All of us bear wounds from living in a fallen world. By showing how we are all wounded by the enemy’s deceptions, this book points the way to Hope and freedom as we walk in Biblical truth in our daily lives. 

Breaking Free*- Tuesdays beginning September 14, 2010, 7-9pm, Room 101 or Thursdays beginning September 16, 2010, 9:15-11:15am, Room 210 

Discover the freedom available to you from the transforming power of Christ. Based on Isaiah 61:1-4, the Bible study draws parallels between the Israelites in captivity and believers in spiritual captivity today.

Search for Significance*- Thursdays beginning September 16, 2010, 9:15-11:15am, Room102

Learn how to see your worth through God’s eyes, step off the “performance treadmill,” and discover, through insightful self-inventory exercises, how four false beliefs have kept you from the joy of abundant life in Christ.

Just Moved*- Wednesdays beginning September  15, 2010, 6:30-8:00pm, Room 105a

This group will help you to grow spiritually during a time of incredible transition, as well as where to find the courage to put down roots all over again.

The Gospel of Ruth*-Saturdays beginning October 2nd, 2010, 7-8:30pm, Room 101

Is God good for women?  Journey together with Naomi and Ruth, women whose lives failed to meet culture’s standards.   We will address this question through Scriptural examination and honest discussion, learning how God is calling us to break the rules.

Prayer Shawl Ministry*-1st Monday of each month, beginning Oct 4, 2010, 7-8:30pm, Room 102a

This will be an ongoing activity designed to provide an opportunity for women to serve and enjoy small group dynamics while making prayer shawls or blankets for those that are sick and / or grieving. Women will gather together once a month to work on knitting or crocheting prayer shawls, enjoying the fellowship of one another and to lift up in prayer those that are suffering.
