PRAYER MINISTRY

At Heritage, we take seriously the words of our Lord Jesus, who said that “My Father’s house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” In fact, at our church, there are all kinds of ways to participate in prayer and to receive prayer. Please check out the following opportunities:

Pastor and Elder Led Prayer

·          When you turn in the yellow prayer cards (in the back of the sanctuary seats) or you mention a need for prayer on a Steps Card (attached to our weekly bulletin), or you contact us through our website, all these concerns are emailed to our pastors and a team of intercessors and they are faithful to pray. The Heritage pastors are always glad to pray for you!

·          The church elders are also available to pray. To contact the elders for an appointment, send an email to Debbi Scott at dscott@heritagecc.org, or 614-898-9412, ext. 101. During every weekend service, on a rotational basis, church elders will visit the children’s classrooms to pray for the participants and teachers.

·            Each week there is a pastor on call who is available to pray and assist people in need during the evening hours.

Weekend Service Prayer

·           During the weekend services, there is prayer available when the teaching pastor gives an invitation and a prayer room exists where people often gather to pray.

·         There is pre-service prayer in the prayer room at 4:30 pm on Saturdays and 8:30 am on Sundays.

Mid-week Prayer

·          There is healing prayer offered on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the church building. No advance sign-up is necessary — you can just show up!

·          Throughout the year, a prayer team intercedes for each person in our church directory and sends them notification of that fact to encourage them in the Lord.

·          There is a deliverance ministry to help people get free of demonic influence. Please pick up the booklet Deliverance = Freedom at the Family Life/Counseling display in the lobby which shows how to get help.

·          Prayer is always available at each of the small groups that Heritage offers. One example would be our Transformational Healing Groups. These groups, for both men and women, help individuals deal with the hurts and traumas of the past during a 16-week journey. Ministries like Begin Again, Celebrate Recovery, DivorceCare, and GriefShare, all have a strong prayer emphasis to help people through the transitions of life.

·          There is a team of people who prays for the pastors and elders of the church and their families.

·          The church sets aside certain days for prayer and we provide special teachings on prayer for the edification of all. These events show up on our website and in our weekly bulletin.

Community and World Outreach Prayer

·          The care ministry has an outreach team to go to hospitals and homes to pray for those in need. You can reach them by emailing Lori Scholten at lscholten@heritagecc.org, or calling her at 614-898-9412, ext. 341.

·          There is prayer for our missionary partners around the world led by one of our elders and his wife. This gathering (in the prayer room) takes place on the first weekend of every month, Saturday (6:30-7:00 pm) or Sunday (10:30 am -11:00 am). Also, there is missions-related prayer occuring from 6:30 am -7:30 am, on Thursday mornings, at the ministry house in front of the Heritage church building.

Please feel free to contact us to receive prayer or to find out how you can get involved in interceding for others. You can call Lori Scholten at 614-898-9412, ext. 341, or email us at prayerministry@heritagecc.org. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His ears are attentive to our prayers!
