He also serves as the Executive Director of The Bridge Community Center which is a volunteer service organization focused on the refugee population on the West side of Columbus. Pavi loves discovering how the gospel of Jesus is being incarnated in new and creative ways while remaining deeply true to the faithful past. He finds the biblical text endlessly generative and formative, and considers jazz a fascinating model for interpretation and incarnation.

He was the director of the High School Leadership Training program in Myrtle Beach for 10 years. In the past, he has directed the (SIP) Summer Intern Program and the Nehemiah Project to train leaders for high school and college ministry. God has used these programs to transform hundreds of lives.

John and his wife, Sally, live in Westerville with their four children, Michael, Nahom, Meron and Jayden. They also have custody of Samuel in Honduras, whom they hope to have with them someday soon.
