The Short Term Mission Teams are forming for 2012. This is a great opportunity to serve the Lord, trust Him in unknown situations, and reach out to people who may never have had a chance to hear about Jesus.

If you are interested in learning more about these trips, stop by the MISSIONS WING and talk with the team leaders after any of the services on February 11/12.

EPIC - from the beginning...to the world without end

Come along on the journey of the Greatest Story Ever Told… from the beginning…to the world without end. We will start in Genesis and end in Revelation asking God to reveal Himself to us along the way - to open our hearts and minds to a greater understanding of His love, mercy and His gracious offer of redemption and hope.

This weekend teaching series begins Jan 7 and ends May 13. You won’t want to miss any part of this series as it will unfold a beautiful panorama of God’s amazing story. The first seven weekends are listed below:

One-Day Membership Class | Sat Feb 18

If you would like to become a Member at Heritage, we are offering a One-Day Membership Class on Sat, Feb 18, 9am-noon, Room 102.

This is a 3-hour class that examines the church’s core beliefs and provides steps to become a Participating Member at Heritage. (We encourage all volunteers and regular attenders to take this class. Membership is a pre-requisite for leadership roles at Heritage).

Lent Small Group Launch | Sun, Feb 19

One of the best ways to get connected at Heritage is through a small group.

As we begin the Lenten Season, we will be forming Lenten Small Groups that will have a definite start date, along with a definite ending date. This allows you to be a part of a group, and to determine if it is a group you would like to join. Some groups decide to stay together, and some end after Lent. This year the groups will meet between February 25 and April 15 for fellowship, prayer and discussion based on the weekend’s sermons.

The Lent Small Group Launch is Sunday, February 19 at 12:30, right after the 11am service in Room 230 (Children’s Ministry Wing). Lunch is provided and children are welcome. We hope you can join us.

Discovering Heritage Luncheon | Sun, Feb 5

Join us for the upcoming Discovering Heritage Luncheon Sunday, February 5, right after the 11am service, Room 230 in the Children’s Wing.

Whether you are new to Heritage, or still feel new, the “DHL” is a great chance to meet the staff and other newcomers, hear about the history and values of Heritage and ask the questions about Heritage doctrine and practices that are important to you. Past attenders have repeatedly indicated that their time has been well spent, and has been especially valuable in helping them decide if Heritage is indeed the place they are supposed to make their church home.

Re-live the moment with those who publicly declared their faith in Jesus at the last baptism celebration at Heritage! This weekend, Feb 4/5 we will rejoice again as many of our Heritage family members will take the plunge to declare their salvation!

Welcome Mitch Glaser from Chosen People Ministries

Mitch Glaser will be our guest speaker for our weekend services, Jan 28/29 as part of the EPIC series. Mitch is a Messianic Jew and president of Chosen People Ministries. For information on this ministry, click here.

There will be a time of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem immediately after the Saturday night service, Jan 28, 6:30pm-7:30pm

Then on Sunday, Jan 29, from 2-4pm, in Room 210, Mitch will facilitate a Chosen People Seminiar where we will learn about sharing our faith with Jewish people.

Red Cross Blood Drive | Tuesday Jan 24

Alpha Course | begins Jan 17

Tuesdays | 6:30-8pm
Room 210

Alpha is for anyone who wants to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. The Alpha course meets weekly for 10 weeks. At each session, people enjoy a great meal, laugh and learn in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile…questions like—Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going?

Come, investigate questions about the existence of God, the purpose of life, the afterlife, the claims of Jesus and more. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.

Everyone is welcome. It is free and childcare is available with online registration.
