Addressing the issues of justice, mercy and humility are central in doing works that reflect God’s heart for the poor, the broken, and the rejected. 

We will be looking at these themes through the eyes of some Old Testament prophets; Jonah, Amos, Hosea, and Micah to name a few.  Jonah struggled with reconciliation. Amos cried out for justice to roll down!  God gave Hosea a marriage to teach him about mercy.  Micah posed the challenging question, “What does the Lord require of you?”  These themes will help us grasp what is deeply important to the heart of God. 

We will also hear more details about the launch of Sanctuary Columbus Church, a Northland Area Church Plant.

“Cultural Compasses that Point Mankind to Jesus”

Don and his first wife worked among the tribal people of Irian Jaya for 15 years. He has published five books, three of which chronicle his or other missionaries work among the tribal people.  His first book, PEACE CHILD, tells the dramatic story of how the Richardsons were able to communicate the Gospel to the Sawi.  LORDS OF THE EARTH documents the trials of their colleagues among the Yali, another Irian Jaya tribe.  ETERNITY IN THEIR HEARTS, Don’s third book, presents case histories of the way God prepares cultures to receive the Gospel.  Don’s fourth book, SECRETS OF THE KORAN, enables readers to know the Koran better than many Muslims. He will have many copies available for purchase that weekend.
