For the next month or so, the middle school students who attend a weekend service will be learning about some “Smart Stuff”, profound and applicable pearls of God’s wisdom. They will learn that God really does know what he’s talking about. Here are the dates of the each lesson:

  • March 7 - God’s Way Is the Way
  • March 14 - Sticks and Stones
  • March 21 - Frogs and Friends
  • March 28 - Eeew… Puke!
  • April 4 - NO Class (Easter Sunday)
  • April 11 - Give It Away

The weekend services consist of authenic fellowship, a relevant teaching, interactive games, and engaging small group discussion (split by grade/gender). We hope to see your child there!

TURN

Wait no more. TURN 2010 is finally here! Beginning this Sunday, March 7th our first TURN class begins. TURN is an 8 week program designed to equip 8th grade students to grow in his/her spiritual walk in Christ. Overall, we want to prepare the students with their transition into High School. Our topics during these weeks include: Putting God First, Establishing Healthy Relationships and Outreach. We meet from March 7-May 2, every week (minus April 4th) from 2-5p in room 110. Also, a snack is served in the middle of the class. If your child has not yet registered, no worries. Just have them come to class on Sunday and we’ll get them registered. You do not have to be a member of the church to attend TURN. We encourage students to invite their friends. Everyone is welcome. Contact us if you have anymore questions.

2010 MS Lock-In

What an amazing 2010 Middle School Lock-In. Say it with me, “God ROCKS!” Here are just a few numbers for us to chew on and give God praise for:

12 - The number of hours hosting the event.

130 - The number of large pizzas ordere d from Papa John’s.

1500 - The number of donut holes ordered from Tim Horton’s.

366 - The number of middle school students in attendance.

202 - The number of volunteers who helped served in shifts throughout the night.

59 - The number of 1st time commitments made to Christ by MS students.

1 - The only person to receive credit for this event – Jesus.

Brief Overview of the Night

Harlend – The night kicked off with an amazing concert performed by Harlend (harlendband.com). At one point they had every voice in the room, young and old, signing praises to God.

Message - Afterwards, a brief message was delivered about the goodness of Jesus. Scripture focus: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” -John 8:12 (NIV)

Fun – There was plenty of fun for the students to have throughout the night. The experience included: three giant inflatable’s, Xbox tournament, video games, SPA for the girls, dodge-ball tournament, and knock-out.

Food – To name a few of the items on the menu: pizza, cookies, nachos and cheese, veggie trays, donuts, ice-cream sandwiches, and chips.

Fellowship – This was priceless. It was great to see students and volunteers connect one another. All night people were laughing, telling funny stories, sharing memories and having a great time.

Thanks to all who helped volunteer. You did a fantastic job. Thanks to all the students who attended. You made the night worthwhile. And thanks to Jesus. You made all this possible.
