Rahab's Hideaway Volunteering Opportunities

With the Lord’s blessing, this ministry has expanded its existing services and service provider network such that it enabled them to provide more volunteering opportunities.

In addition to the Street Outreach program whereby toiletry bags are handed to exploited women on the streets, Rahab’s has developed new programs and activities that volunteers may engage in.  To engage with clients at Rahab’s, volunteers must meet a few prerequisites.

PREREQUISITES :

1- Must submit an online application to Rahab’s. Click here to submit application.

2- Must submit to a background check.

3- Must attend Orientation session.

4- Must go through Volunteer Training.

Their Volunteering opportunities include:

1- Mentoring trafficking victims whom are in transitioning from the streets.

• Training is required. Held on Saturdays 10am-6pm
• Volunteers pays $30.00 for training
• Mentors can serve as Life Coaches and/or Case Managers
• Responsibilities include Taking Clients to Medical appointments, grocery shopping, teaching household economics, and providing transportation to Celebrate Recovery meetings.

2- Participate in the “Dinner Club Crew” by:  

• Training is Required. Held on Saturdays 10am-69m
• Providing ingredients for Low-budget meals.
• Providing community by teaching cooking skills to the clients.
• Dining with them.

3- Administrative assistance needed in the areas of:

• Website design &
• Event management.

4- Tutoring – All 14 clients are in school. Tutors are needed for the 3 R(s) :      

• Reading
• Writing 
• Arithmetic
• Training is required. Held on Saturdays 10am-6pm.  

5- Vocational Opportunities

• Those with general Handyman skills for household maintenance
• Those with electrical / plumbing skills

6- College Students - May apply for Internships and Special Projects

NOTE:

• Employees of Verizon and PEPSI are eligible to benefit from a corporate sponsored Volunteer Match Program. For every 50 hours of volunteer time, $750.00 is donated to Rahab’s Hideaway on a per person basis.
