The Connection (assimilation) Ministry exists to assist any individual desiring to take any step into or within the Heritage faith community. Our ministry heartbeat is to provide, provoke and protect a safe and comfortable environment where people feel valued, cared for and at ease in an unfamiliar setting. Christian hospitality is (1) modeled by the Trinity (Nahum 1:7, Luke 14:12-13; John 14:16, (2) a command of scripture (Rom. 12:13), (3) a sign of Christian maturity (1 Tim. 3:2; Tit. 1:8), (4) a witness and apologetic to a skeptical world (1 Pet. 4:9-12), and (5) an energizing force in the church (Rom. 16:23). Plus, it’s just plain fun and fulfilling to share our lives and resources with someone new to your world without communicating a need for anything in return. There’s no bigger buzz in this world than knowing that the God of the universe used you to touch another (or that He used another to come alongside you)!

If you would like to comment on any aspects of Heritage’s hospitality, please fill out our online Weekend Welcome Forum.

There are several aspects of Heritage Connection Ministry Team:

1.   Welcome Ministry — That each person who attends each Heritage-sponsored event would lavishly experience the radically welcoming heart of Jesus.

Connection Admin Patty Marburger, pmarburger@heritagecc.org, ext 201

2.   Serving Ministry - That every HCC regular attender would know their God-designed SHAPE (spiritual gifts, heart (passion), abilities, personality and ordained experiences) and find their appropriate place(s) of service.

Ministry Contact: Terry Rainville, Serving (volunteer) Coordinator, trainville@heritagecc.org, ext. 215.

3.   Participating Membership - That each HCC regular attender would embrace and be able to articulate the value of the role, rights, responsibilities, and tenets of HCC participating membership.

Ministry Contact: Lori Scholten, Membership and Connection Admin. lscholten@heritagecc.org, ext 230

4.  Communications — That HCC would utilize effective communication tools to help “pre-attenders” and attenders take their next step toward Christ, and help ministries take their next step toward attenders.

NEW TO HERITAGE?

Welcome. You are checking out a church that is certainly not perfect by any means, — but it is healthy :-)

Here are seven highly recommended early connection options:

1.  Stop by the welcome desk before/after a service. You can get any answers you may need, ask to meet a particular person, and get our welcome pack with free church DVD.

2.  Fill out a steps card early and often (whenever you want to take the next step or have any question or commnet).  Don’t worry, we won’t badger you with any intrusive visits or excess “Commercial” email junk. We will strive to serve you only in the way you are asking. You lead early on, and we’ll follow as responsively as possible by God’s Grace.

3.  Browse this website. There’s a lot going on in all areas of the church. Also use the contact page to connect with anyone on staff, or just call one of us and let us do the connecting for you.

4.  Go to the quarterly Discovering Heritage Luncheon (in October, January, April, and July). Great chance to hear the history, heart and DNA behind the church, meet all the staff and other newcomers, ask those questions that are important to you.

5.  Check out a life group. There are tons of them for every life position on virtuallty every day of the week. No need to feel locked in to any particular one you visit, just “shop” until you know it’s the right one for you. We trust you :-)

6.  Try serving somewhere. We connect by doing life together. Try a one time only first serve and see what God does.

7.  Try a bible study, seminar, or W-Life or M-Life event. Short term risk, high touch.
