Divorce Care For Kids

DC4K is a special group for kids designed to help them with healing from a parent’s divorce or separation.  This is a safe place for children to recognize their feelings and address them appropriately.  We want to reassure every child that God’s love will strengthen them and lead them turn their sadness to hope.  DC4K is a powerful ministry for ages 7-12 and runs 14 weeks.

Class begins January 5, 2009.  Please click here to register online.

Children's Dedication Class - January 17, 2009 5:00p

Children are precious to God – after all, he created them! The Bible tell us that children are a gift from God, and that he wants them to grow up learning about him and how much he loves them. During a child dedication, parents promise to honor God’s desire in three ways:

Direction: Parents promise to lead and train their children in the ways of God.
“The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”
(Deuteronomy 6:4-7, NLT)

Devotion: Parents promise to give their children’s life path to God.
The Bible tells the story of a woman named Hannah who prayed for years to have a child. When God answered her prayer, she said, “I asked the LORD to give me this boy, and he has granted my request. Now I am giving him to the LORD, and he will belong to the LORD his whole life.”
(1 Samuel 1:27-28a, NLT)

Dependence: Parents promise to depend on God’s grace, love and power in raising their children.
For a house to be strong, God must guide its building. In the same way, God also must guide the building up of a strong child. For that to happen, parent must depend on him continually.  “Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted” (Psalm 127, NLT)
