Praise be to the God … of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Welcome to the Care Ministry at Heritage. Our team of volunteers seek to provide a helping hand to individuals and families. Trying to follow the example of Jesus, we desire to respond to those in times of hurt, hardship and joy. Whether calling on the sick and hospitalized, providing encouragement with a hot meal, helping with a minor home repair, or giving the hope of Jesus to the grieving, compassionate caregivers want to support those at Heritage and beyond. There are many important ministries that Care provides which are listed below. If you or someone you know has a need that we can address, please contact us and a care provider will be in touch with you. “Take care of my sheep” — Jesus said it; let’s live it!
PRAYER
To communicate a prayer need, fill out a gold prayer request card found in the auditorium chair pocket and place it in the offering basket or at any box located at the doors of the auditorium. If you are not at the church, you may submit your prayer requests online here.
Prayer Warriors: A wonderful group of individuals have committed to bringing the weekly prayer requests before a limitless, able and loving God.
Care Cards, Letters, Emails, and Phone Calls: Often prayer requests are followed up with encouraging cards, letters, emails or phone calls which extend an invitation for further prayer or other Care Ministry support.
VISITATION
Hospital, Nursing Home and Home Visitation: Our team has a big compassionate heart for the sick and lonely. They are passionate about bringing God’s words of peace, comfort and hope to ones facing surgery, illness, or lengthy recovery.
FUNERAL SUPPORT
When a Heritage family has to say good-bye to a loved one, our funeral support cares about creating a warm, nurturing environment where grieving family and friends can experience the tender love of God.
SUPPORT GROUPS
Grief Share is a 13-week Bible-based video series held twice per year to help people find joy in life after the loss of a loved one.
Widows/Widowers ministry provides support and prayer through the grieving process and a plan to make sure they are cared for in the days to follow.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
The Benevolence team mentors Heritage attendees experiencing financial hardships. Contact the Care Pastor to request an application for benevolence assistance. The goal is to help individuals live within their personal financial resources and be good stewards of their money.
Giving Tree is an anonymous program designed to provide Christmas gifts to families within the church who have been financially impacted throughout the year.
PHYSICAL NEEDS
Our Meals team knows how a simple meal can feed the body and soul during difficult times and are committed to showing God’s love and care in a very practical way.
Transportation coordinates arrangements for those who need such assistance for church services and events, a doctor’s appointment or a significant errand.
Minor Home Repairs/Maintenance provides services for those who are in need and unable to perform routine home repairs, maintenance, yard work and special projects.
